SUMMARY:Out of the Flames into the Light - Printmaking Project for bush fire affected communities
DESCRIPTION:“Out of the flames\, into the light” \n……is a Printmaking Project which will culminate in an edition of etchings and an edition of Artist-made-books to be shared amongst participants. \nLocal Artist and resident Kevin Foley and Maldon Artist Kareen Anchen will be collaborating with approximately 15 participants from the bushfire affected communities near Barfold\, Redesdale and Mia Mia. Both Kevin and Kareen have many years of experience teaching and working in The Arts. This project will be a time to reflect on the 2009 bushfires in a sensitive and caring way whilst having an opportunity to be guided to express thoughts\, share memories and make something very special in a supportive and creative environment. \nThere will be beginners’ workshops in drawing\, printmaking and bookmaking on offer at no cost to participants. Places however are limited\, and you will need to register your interest. No experience is necessary. \nThe project starts on Tuesday 26 March and runs until 18 April 2019. Dates and times of workshops will be circulated once registrations have been made. This is a flexible delivery project and a tremendous opportunity to learn some new creative skills and a place for connections to be made. All workshops will be held in Mia Mia. \nTo register your interest: \nPlease email: info@kevinfoley.com.au \n
